Tara was born and raised in Richmond, California, one of three children. In her adolescence she witnessed her mother become a fierce champion for resources in her community and even ran for Richmond City Council. She cites her mother as her inspiration to continue advocating on behalf of communities in need of resources to thrive.
Because of her upbringing and mother's influence, she has become heavily involved in her community. The Vallejo City Council appointed Tara as Chair of the Housing & Community Development Commission, board member of the Design Review. Tara is also Vice-Chair of the Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee. She also is an Advisory Board Member of the Veterans Resources Program and Vice President of the Solano County Black Chamber of Commerce.
Her exposure and work in the community reminds her why she supports small businesses, advocates for underserved communities, and uplift safe spaces for those who go ignored.
In Tara's downtime, you can find her working in her garden, volunteering at the Veteran Resource Program, and coaching women who aspire to become entrepreneurs.
Economic Development
Vallejo needs leadership that cares. District 5 has been a business desert for too long. Businesses need to thrive in this area, Tennessee is a main street among many in Vallejo and every other building is closed or abandoned. I intend to implement a community benefits program and a Revolving Loan Fund for small businesses.
Unhoused Neighbors
Our Homeless brothers and sisters are on the streets and raising families in homeless encampments, what does that say about us? It is unacceptable and it's time to change, Vallejo must do better, can do better, and together we will do better. I will fight for mental health resources, substance abuse resources and other wrap around services for our homeless community.
Beautification
Beautifying the District will be what we need to assist in bringing businesses, companies, sponsors and so much more to our great city, and I plan to work hard. ALL of these objectives are possible, by electing me as your City Councilwoman for District 5, it will be a reality!
I love Vallejo and as wonderful of a city as we are. Rich with culture, and history, we can do better. I am a champion for the people ALL people and my goal is to enrich the lives of those in my community.
Vote 4 Tara Beasley-Stansberry for District 5 City Council November 2022.
